Registered Nursing Alumnus

Name:
Bob Stobaugh

Program:
Registered Nursing, Class of 1993

Current Occupation:
Nurse Recruiter for Baptist Health

I love my job in healthcare because:
Until this year I have been a nurse in the operating room at Baptist Health. I love this area of nursing because of the immediate satisfaction of helping my patients through the surgical process. In the past year I have taken a position as the Nurse Recruiter for Baptist Health. The love of nursing as a career and my belief in Baptist Health as being one of the best employers in the state makes my job exciting. I love watching new grads come out of school and see how eager they are to begin this caring and compassionate career.

My advice for students interested in healthcare is:
Healthcare is recession-proof. There will always be a place for you to work as long as there are sick people. Healthcare workers are in the front line at hospitals all over the country. Study hard and try to get as much patient care experience that you can.

What I enjoyed most about being a student at BHSLR:
My instructors. They were so eager to teach. We were able to experience everything from group therapy in the psych unit to surgery, critical care patients and even community health clinics.
