Nuclear Medicine Technology

Using radioactive materials, Nuclear Medicine Technologists visualize functioning organs, analyze biological specimens, and administer treatment for certain diseases.

• 12 month program
• Classes begin in July
• Application Deadline: March 1st; March 15th for all other requirements
• 7-9 students accepted for each class

• Completed Application Process.
• ACT Score of 21 is preferred.
• Minimum of 77 semester hours from Academic Affiliate (UCA) or a baccalaureate degree. A cumulative GPA of 3.0 is preferred.
• A BHSLR applicant must be a high school graduate or have a GED prior to program start date. Please note that these are minimum requirements and applicants are ranked according to academic criteria. Interview with selection committee.

• Complete the Personal Statement form and two Recommendation forms in addition to the application.

Applicant must have earned a final grade of "C" or better in order for the courses listed above to transfer.

How much does the Nuclear Medicine Program cost?

What if I don’t make a 21 or above on the ACT?

The Baptist Health School of Nuclear Medicine Technology prefers an ACT Score of 21 or above for admission. If you do not score a 21 or above, we recommend that you re-test. Generally, students are able to increase their score with each time they take the ACT. We also recommend that you use a study guide or preparatory course that is specifically designed for the ACT.


What if I have a scholarship from the University of Central Arkansas?

If you have a scholarship from the University of Central Arkansas, it will not transfer into Baptist Health School of Nuclear Medicine Technology. However, all other state and federal financial aid will be obtained through the university. Baptist Health School of Nuclear Medicine Technology students may also apply for scholarships through the Baptist Health Financial Aid Office.


How many days a week will I be in class?

As a student in the Baptist Health School of Nuclear Medicine Technology, you will be in class 5 days per week.


Do you offer night or online classes?

At this time, the Baptist Health School of Nuclear Medicine Technology does not offer classes at night or online.
