RN to BSN Completer Agreement

The BHSLR School of Nursing is proud to coordinate with Arkansas Tech University (AR Tech) to offer Baptist Health RN graduates a seamless and online option to complete a Bachelor of Science in Nursing degree. The completer agreement between BHSLR and AR Tech is student-friendly and accessible. Some of the major highlights are:

  • Agreement serves current and historical graduates from Baptist Health RN program.
  • AR Tech will transfer in all general education taken as part of the Baptist Health RN curriculum.
  • Completer curriculum is completely web-based and serves working and distant students.
  • Completer curriculum allows for clinical/practicum experiences in the student's home community.

General Description

Arkansas Tech University (AR Tech) offers a 30-hour online Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) completer program for National League for Nursing Accrediting Commission (NLNAC) accredited diploma program or associate degree graduates. Once a student completes the required general education, the completer curriculum is designed to be completed in one calendar year if the student attends on a full-time basis. Students may choose to enroll part-time which lengthens the program. Courses are completely web-based with no campus time required. There are nine courses in the completer program, two of which require a practicum/clinical component that can be completed in the student's home community.

 

Admission Requirements for Baptist Health RN Grads

  • Graduate must be a licensed RN.
  • Graduate must have completed a minimum of 61 required general education hours with a 2.75 minimum GPA in particular courses.
  • Graduate must submit a letter from his/her employer documenting work experience if over 12 months since graduation.

FAQs

  1. Where can I complete the additional general education courses that I need? Do all general education requirements have to be completed before enrolling in the NURN completer courses?
  2. You can complete the general education courses at your local, accredited 2-year or 4-year college. For your convenience, PTC and AR Tech articulation guides are available on the BHSLR website.

    Yes. All general education must be completed before enrolling in the NURN completer coursework.


  3. I have many of the required general education courses from many years ago...will they transfer to AR Tech?
  4. Yes. There is no time limit on general education coursework. LaDonna Snider at AR Tech can help students evaluate their college experience and determine transferability of courses.


  5. Can the transcripts that I submitted to BHSLR be transferred to AR Tech?
  6. No, BHSLR and AR Tech do not share student records. Official transcripts from each of your attended institutions will need to be sent from the institution to Arkansas Tech.

  7. How do I apply to the completer program?

  9. Which institution will award the degree?
  10. Upon completion, students will receive a Bachelor of Science in Nursing degree from AR Tech.

  11. How often will I have to go to Russellville?
  12. Seldom. Hopefully, just for your commencement ceremony!

  13. What if I do not have experience with web-based, online courses?
  14. One of the first courses you will take is Nursing Informatics. This course is designed to give you tools to be successful in the online program.

    General Education Requirements

    AR Tech requires a minimum of 61 hours of general education hours to enter the BSN completer program. AR Tech will accept all courses taken by BHSLR students through PTC. The nutrition course is transferred to AR Tech as part of the nursing curriculum requirements. This table is designed to be a general guide for students.
